The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance began in 1950, as a social component held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Road Races. Today, the Concours headlines more than 10 days of August races, auctions, exhibitions and other high-octane events held across the Monterey Peninsula. This is your chance to connect with race drivers, car designers, collectors, celebrities and automotive enthusiasts from around the globe.

Make the most of your car week experience with this guide to 2024 events.

Monday-Wednesday, August 5-14

Pebble Beach Motoring Classic

Exceptional classic cars make the ultimate 1,500-mile road trip when they depart from Seattle, wind through the Cascades, and continue down the California coast to Pebble Beach. Vehicles arrive at Casa Palmero around 4 p.m. on August 14, and select entrants will go on to participate in other 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance events.

Monterey Race Car Show Kickoff

This dynamic Monterey Car Week opener brings 30 race cars from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to downtown Monterey under California Highway Patrol escort. A free show with not-street-legal cars, live music and raffle prizes follows from 5 to 7 p.m., when the cars return to the track for a weekend of racing.

Monterey Pre-Reunion and Corkscrew Hillclimb

This casual fan favorite draws an array of historic race cars to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where they take practice laps ahead of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Attendees can roam the open paddock, chat with drivers, and view cars up close. For the third year, cars will also race counter-course to finish at the top of the track’s iconic Corkscrew.

Porsche Monterey Classic

From vintage gems to modern masterpieces, this spirited event showcases spectacular Porsche models. Guests will find live music, local art and culinary treats, too. Reserve tickets in advance to enjoy the festivities that take place at Porsche Monterey’s Seaside facility from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Quail Rally

Forty outstanding vintage and luxury vehicles participate in this three-day tour that leads up to The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Founded in 1997, the August road trip winds along scenic California routes and raises money for charitable causes.

Concours for a Cause

Explore electric vehicle conversions and other good works at this downtown Carmel event that sets up at Devendorf Park, near Mission and Sixth. Local vendors and displays are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Classic Motorsports Monterey Kickoff

This free, fun car week welcome party takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. in downtown Pacific Grove. Look for sports and luxury cars, muscle cars, newer exotics, classic 4x4s and more lined up for display. Representatives from major automotive brands and events will judge pre-registered entries ahead of the 4 p.m. awards ceremony.

Wednesday, August 14

The Little Car Show

Multi-marque mini, micro, steam, electric and other cars of 1,800cc displacement or less will compete in 10 categories during this free gathering. Vehicles line Lighthouse Avenue from noon to 5 p.m., followed by a coastal cruise to Asilomar State Beach. Proceeds benefit the Pacific Grove Youth Center and Veterans Transition Center.

Motorlux

Hagerty presents this elevated Monterey Jet Center event that will showcase rare automobiles and private planes. Featured classes for 2024 include Adventure Machines, California Dreaming, and a celebration of Italian design legend Marcello Gandini. Food, wine and red-carpet experiences complete the evening.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

The 2024 presentation of this acclaimed gathering honors 50 years of historic racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Look for 400+ competitors in run groups like 1955-1969 saloon cars, 1961-1975 FIA Manufacturers Championship, and 1967-1981 Formula Fords. While spotlighting rarely seen cars at work, the immersive experience also includes wine, entertainment and family-friendly activities.

Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach Auctions

Gooding & Company presents the only car week auction held within the gates of 17-Mile Drive. International collectors and enthusiasts gather to view vehicles of notable quality, design and provenance at this event that has set world records for prices paid. Viewings are scheduled from August 14 to 17. Sales begin at 5 p.m. on August 16 and at 11 a.m. on August 17.

Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance

More than 150 Pebble Beach Concours entrants participate in this annual museum-in-motion presented by Rolex. Spectators can watch as cars line up around 7 a.m., depart at 9:30 a.m., and travel along 17-Mile Drive and Highway One before returning to Pebble Beach. A car that successfully completes this tour takes precedence if in a class tie on Concours Sunday.

Prancing Ponies Women’s Car Show

Founded to empower women and inspire girls, this woman-owned car show brings cars of all models to Carmel’s Ocean Avenue between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A fashion show, VIP lounge, and awards like “Men We Love” and “Curve Appeal” complete the day. Events benefit the Prancing Ponies Foundation, which sends low-income women to conferences that better their careers and lives.

Ferrari Owners Club Presents Concours Carmel

Curated Ferraris and Italian motorcycles will fill four blocks of Carmel’s Ocean Avenue and Dolores Street from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The free event, which also features music, conversation and awards, supports Harrison Memorial Library, the Carmel Foundation and CASA of Monterey County.

Broad Arrow Monterey Jet Center Auction

Automotive-world movers and shakers convene at Concours Village, near the Pebble Beach Golf Academy, for this annual discussion series. Mecum Monterey’s 2023 auction saw more than $45 million in sales. This year, it re-turns to the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa with about 600 rare vehicles and 100 vintage cycles. Doors open daily at 8 a.m., road art items kick off at 9 a.m., and car sales start at 10 a.m.

In 2024, this event of 20-plus years will recognize 100 years of MG, the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo Type 930, and 30 years of Koenigsegg Automotive. Other classes range from pre-war sports and racing to the Great Ferraris. Expect food, drink and luxury retailer exhibits, too.

Free for spectators and known for an exciting mix of super, hyper and exotic cars, this Seaside gathering has become a must-attend favorite. From 1 to 6 p.m., meet owners and fans while viewing more than 400 cars and displays by 45 vendors along parts of Broadway and Fremont in Seaside.

Concours d’Lemons California

Participants openly bribe judges as they battle for the coveted Worst of Show trophy and other category awards at this annual salute to eccentric and awful automobiles. The festivities take place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Seaside City Hall lawn.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The 73rd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance caps off 10 days of automotive excellence while celebrating a range of extraordinary motorcars, including representatives from five featured classes: the 125th anniversary of Packard, Maserati, the coachwork of Pietro Frua, wedge-shaped concepts and prototypes, and BPR and FIA GT race cars of the 1990s. Expect other special surprises as well, when hundreds of singular vehicles grace the fairways of Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Dawn Patrol viewers can access the show field starting at 5:30 a.m., followed by judges who will evaluate entries based on elegance, technical merit and history. An afternoon awards ceremony and live presentation begin at 1:30 p.m., with category winners announced in the lead-up to the 5 p.m. Best of Show presentation

Since it was founded in 1950, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has raised more than $38 million for community organizations supported through the Pebble Beach Company Foundation—including more than $3 million in 2023 alone.
